Due to the fact that they view music primarily as a commodity, prioritizing on packaging and pigeon holes, as opposed to free thought and social growth.

Essex Girl records is an independent label, that launders money to provide artists with that opportunity. We are a coop that nurtures community not hierarchy, we are a union that promotes cooperation and communication and not competition.

Essex Girl has been created by artists, for artists. All prospective artists keep their copyright and publishing, so not to undermine but to support artists independence and integrity. Essex Girl integrates the concepts of safe space and consensus in decision-making and hopes in that way to cultivate a loyal, self-sustaining community.
